Frequently Asked Questions:

Can You Trust Me?

You certainly can trust me. I am fully trained in Art Psychotherapy with two Masters degrees in Art Therapy. I have trained to Level 3 in EMDR and Phase 2 in Brainspotting. I am a member of British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and I am registered with Health and care Professions Council (HCPC). I am therefore bound by the ethical frameworks and professional conduct procedures of both affiliating bodies.

Therapy is confidential. If in the exceptional case that there is a disclosure of risk to yourself or to others, I will fully discuss with you when and if it is my duty to interrupt our confidentiality.

How much do I charge?

My rates vary from £70 - £100 per hour.

I am currently offering online appointments at a lower rate.

What happens if I need to cancel?

You can always cancel a booked session if you provide more than 24 hours notice prior to the session’s starting time to receive a full refund. If you have to cancel less than 24 hours before your session, that session is non-refundable. I urge you to send a message explaining the reasons for the cancellation and to schedule a new appointment.

How Long will it take?

Each session lasts between 50 – 60 minutes. Clients tend to have therapy sessions at the same time once a week, particularly at the beginning when regular support is crucial. The total length of a course of therapy will depend on each person’s unique situation. Some people need only a few sessions to gain a new level of clarity around a particular issue, generally more sessions are needed for a deeper exploration.

Any type of therapy involves processes that take time to unfold. Usually, a minimum of 5 to 10 sessions is needed. Once you have a feeling for our working alliance we would discuss the length of treatment to suit you. Over time, clients can sense the frequency and number of sessions that best fit with the stage of their own personal process.
